Rosacea and Spider Vein Treatment
Xenon light is converted into heat by the oxy-haemoglobin (red blood pigment). This results in a local reaction or blood coagulation (flocculation) in the unwanted blood vessel.
The increased tissue temperature generated by the Xenon light and radio frequency power causes a coagulation of tissue proteins and adhesion of connective tissue fibres. This process seals the porous vessel. The waste blood beneath the skin will be degraded by the body's lymphatic system over the next 10-14 days.
After treatment it is recommended to adapt your personal behaviour for several days and to possibly refrain from anything that promotes blood circulation in the treated area and thus counteracts the desired result:
1. Avoid caffeine-containing beverages, alcohol and nicotine
2. No saunas, baths, hot showers etc.
3. Forgo intensive exercise
4. No blood-thinning medication (aspirin)
Usually, a few days or even immediately after treatment disturbing "little veins" disappear. Some may regress over time. During this process, the vessel can gradually change colour and appearance, e.g. some time to appear brownish or uneven.
The cosmetic result can only be assessed after 4 to 6 weeks following treatment. During this time, the area treated can be covered with the usual skin friendly and proven cosmetics.
